On the 22nd April, the landmark one millionth Mazda MX-5 was made at the Ujina Plant in Hiroshima.
27 Years on from when Mazda first started making this quintessential roadster, the one millionth MX-5 model will be displayed at the Goodwood festival of speed, highlighting what a spectacular and iconic car the MX-5 really is.
The MX-5 still holds the Guinness world record for the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time and its popularity shows no sign of slowing down.
Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director expresses his excitement of the car, saying: “The MX-5 sits at the heart of Mazda’s brand and it embodies all that is great about our cars. Its fun to drive character has strengthened the bond between Mazda and its customers for more than a quarter of a century. The production of the one-millionth MX-5 is a landmark and it’s great that we can celebrate this with MX-5 owners and fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.”
The 2016 Goodwood festival of speed will run on the 23rd – 26th June.
